imageIt’s about time to read this one. This play by Lorraine Hansberry presaged the revolution in black and women’s consciousness. It explores the value systems of the black family in terms of class and generational conflicts.

  1. The writing in that passage show the power of that play. Definitely a must-read!

    • So true. I started from the beginning after I turned the last page because I didn’t quite get the overall flow and nuance of it the first time around. I was too caught up with the asides. I think play is meant to read without stopping to get that continuity.
