Why Booking Through Thursday?

btt button

Today’s question: What’s your favorite part of Booking Through Thursday? Why do you participate (or not)?

For those who don’t know, Booking Through Thursday is a collective blogging prompt that takes place every Thursday. I first participated because the thought-provoking questions at BTT somehow lead to my writing of some editorial pieces for this blog. In fact, over time, a few of the thoughts egged on by BTT have become the most popular posts. Many a time BTT coincidentally attunes to bookish issues that I ponder at, making it the appropriate channel to address these issues with fellow readers Since this week’s question allows me to indulge in narcissism, I highlight some of my favorites in 2009:

Posterity: What Makes a Classic?
Obligation to a Book
Taking Notes
Recent Best: Shanghai Girls
The Sticky Fifteen
One Read Wonder
Reading Beyond the Words: On Symbolism
One at a Time
Spontaneity and Whim

The unexpected benefit is the drastic increase in readership and blog traffic after I have participated collective blogging. Via BTT I have come to meet some very loyal and out-spoken readers.
