I snagged this meme from Iliana who got it from Danielle a while ago. Make an alphabetical list of some favorite books and authors. B: Bulgakov, Mikhail – The Master and Margarita
C: Cao, Xu Qin – The Dream of the Red Chambers
D: Dostoevsky, Fyodor – The Brothers Karamazov

F: Forster, E. M. – Maurice
G: Garcia Marquez, Gabriel – Love in the Time of Cholera
H: Hartley, J. P. – The Go-Between
I: Ishiguro, Kazuo – The Unconsoled
J: James, Henry – The Wings of the Dove

Hmmm…. I’ll have to try this one tomorrow….
A most creative idea to share favorite books. Your list is wonderful. I’m not surprised you’ve heavy on classics.
You have some of my most favorite books ever on here — Love in the Time of Cholera, The Hummingbird’s Daughter, Shadow of the Wind, The Handmaid’s Tale and a few others… Love it
Great list!
I loved the Handmaid’s Tale, too. And I am *going* to read The Go-Between this year! Definitely. I also want to read the Painted Veil–or something by Maugham as well. And Maurice…
I found myself debating for a log time over which authors to choose simply because I like so many!! I would pick an author, start typing the book in, and remember another author.
If you do read “Myra Breckenridge”, be prepared for a very sexually deviant, manipulative character. Also, one of Vidal’s best books, and he has written so many great titles!! I almost chose “The City and the Pillars.”
Some of these books are excellent–I loved The Time Traveller’s Wife, as well as The Painted Veil. I’m also a huge fan of Carlos Ruiz Zafon, and The Name of the Rose was pretty good, too. I read The Handmaid’s Tale a long time ago, but I don’t remember much about it.
